Getting Started
There are no members of Journey Church. We believe when you become a follower of Jesus you become a member of the family of God, so why do you need to join a church? Rather than joining a church we want you to join this movement to see people far from God filled with life in Christ. We don’t want you to think of yourselves as a member but rather as a partner. The people of Journey church partner together in the family of God to see people far from God filled with life in Christ. Partnership means active participation; it means jumping into ministry at Journey. It’s a collection of people uniting together and tirelessly laboring to create an experience where people can meet Jesus Christ.
Growth
The Journey Church exists “so that people far from God will be filled with life in Christ.” When someone wants to partner with Journey church it means that they will tirelessly seek out and develop relationships with people who need a relationship with Jesus Christ and invite those who are far from God to one of our worship experiences. Journey Church will partner with you by creating engaging worship experiences where the gospel message is preached.
Groups
An essential element of Journey is engaging our community by serving with one another. We agree to accomplish more together rather than alone. We will be a church that serves and makes a difference in our community and in the world. Each month we come together in groups to serve the “least of these”, the poor, the broken, and the forgotten.
Giving
Jesus said: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) We challenge those who partner with Journey to commit 10% of their income to God’s mission of caring for widows, orphans and the “least of these” by putting their trust in God and cheerfully giving faithfully of their income, resources and time into God’s work at Journey. Strategic Generosity is one of our core values, and we desire for the order of God to bring peace, abundance and purpose to your financial situation.
Gifts
Every person is given gifts to be used for God’s glory and we will provide an opportunity for those gifts to be developed through volunteering at Journey. Every volunteer role is vital to create an experience where people are more likely to hear from Jesus Christ. The sermon starts in the parking lot, as most people will determine if they will come back within the first 8 minutes of their visit. The roles of teaching children about Jesus Christ, being part of the welcome team, or leading one of our service groups are just as important as the role of the pastor. Without the selfless servants of The Journey, what we do would not be possible.
